CIRG meetings follow the Corning – Painted Post school schedule. If school is closed or delayed the CIRG meeting is cancelled. |
Who we are:
The Corning Incorporated Retirees Group (CIRG) was established in 1994 to provide a vehicle for retirees to continue workplace friendships and to share memories and experiences of their years working for what has been one of the most diversified corporations in American industry. The CIRG was established for all retired hourly and salaried employees of Corning Incorporated and their spouses. In other words, if you receive a pension check from the company, you can participate in CIRG activities. This includes all retired employees of World Kitchens and all union or non-union, salaried or hourly retired employees.
What we do:
CIRG keeps retirees active, connected and informed. We have regular meetings over coffee with our members and organize special events (including group trips). Two most notable social events: Summer Picnic and Christmas Party. All of our events are open to CIRG members, families and guests. CIRG maintains this website and, in conjunction with Corning’s Corporate Communications department, publishes an annual newsletter in the spring.
We also reach out to the community with fundraisers. By raising more than any other participating groups to help battle cancer, CIRG has taken a fund-raising leadership role in the annual Relay for Life event.

How we do it:
With more than 200 members, CIRG provides information through this website, in the annual Newsletter, and through notices sent to the local media. CIRG’s Board of Directors helps plan and organize events to keep the programs running.
Monthly Coffee Programs
CIRG coffees programs -- with guest speakers on a variety of topics -- are held from 10 to 11 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month in the Riverfront Cafe. Since there are occasional exceptions to this schedule, it is best to check this web site and the local media for the latest information about that month's meeting. These programs are open to all Corning Incorporated retirees, their spouses and guests. A full report of the most recent coffee program is always placed prominently at the front of this web site.
