2008 Coffee Hour Programs

The Corning Incorporated Retirees Group’s regular scheduled coffee programs in the Riverfront Café at the Corporate Headquarters Complex are held each second Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

JULY PROGRAM SHIFT: The CIRG Schedule for July takes on a new look this year. Instead of a Coffee Speaker program on the second Wednesday and the annual picnic the following day, the July CIRG calendar has only the Annual Picnic ON THE REGULAR COFFEE PROGRAM DAY... JULY 9 AT CRAIG PARK IN PAINTED POST. This suggestion met with near-unanimous endorsement by nearly 100 persons attending the January 9 Coffee meeting.

What You Need to Know About the CIRG Picnic

When and Where: July 9, Noon to 3 p.m. - Craig Park Pavilion, Painted Post

Cost: $10 includes all taxes. Payable by check made out to CIRG and sent by July 4 to CIRG, P.O. Box 308, Corning, NY 14830.

Food will be served starting at 1 p.m. and NOT BEFORE. Handicapped members will be allowed through the line first.

The Menu:

Trays of Cheese and Crackers, Fruits, Vegetables and Relishes

Grilled Chicken Breasts; Italian Sausages with peppers and onions; Hamburgers; Hot dogs

Baked Beans; Pasta Salad; Green Salad; Roasted Red Potatoes

Rolls and Butter and Condiments

Dessert: Cookie and Brownie Trays.

Beverages: Iced Tea; Lemonade; Punch; Water.

FREE PARKING - Retirees and guests attending our monthly Coffee programs can park free in the company parking garage - the one behind the Club House building. Just pull up to the gate and when the guard asks your business, tell the guard you are there to attend the retirees' coffee program.

CANCELLATIONS - As a matter of policy, in the event weather forces Corning-Painted Post schools to close OR DELAY the start of the school day, the CIRG program will be cancelled.

Open to all Corning retirees and their guests, the programs feature guest speakers on informative and relevant topics. The schedule for the remainder of 2007 is as follows:

July 9

There is no Coffee program on July 9. It is replaced by the annual CIRG picnic at Craig Park in Painted Post. Cost is $10 per person and reservations are strongly suggested by July 4 with payment sent to CIRG, P.O. Box 308, Corning, NY 14830.

August 13
